    Cold water immersion is a practice that involves immersing oneself in cold water temperatures. This recovery technology is great for relieving pain, helping anxiety and depression, boosting your immune system and improving your circulation.

    With the power of infrared light, the sauna generates a dry healing heat. This results in a lower ambient air temperature allowing for longer sustained stays in the sauna. Experience better sleep, relaxation, sore muscle relief, and so much more.

  • Normatec

    Normatec Compression technology uses dynamic air compression to create a restorative massage to help you recover faster. The compression can be applied to your arms, legs or hips. Experience improved athletic recovery.

FAQ’s

A few things to know before your first visit to the Recovery Room. Please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment.

COLD PLUNGE

  • Please wear a swimsuit as you will be fully immersed in a cold tub and please shower before entering the plunge.

  • We schedule 15 min increments, however 3 minutes is the recommended time to plunge. Having said that you can stay in for 30 seconds up to 10 minutes, depending on what your body and mind will allow that day.

  • It is recommended that you plunge 11 minutes a week to see the full physical benefits, that can be diced up however you want or have the time for. With that said there is also something to be said about a good routine and challenging yourself daily!

  • Some of the benefits of using a cold plunge may include pain relief, recovery, mental focus, body health, lowering inflammation in the body, and better sleep.

  • Expect to embrace being uncomfortable with huge rewards! The best way is to, “rip the bandaid off” and submerge your body into the water, above chest level (Some love to also quickly dunk their head, either at the beginning or end. This is up to you and how much you feel like challenging yourself that day). Your body and mind are going to tell you to GET OUT!! Ignore this and focus on your breathing (box breathing), remain calm as the first 90-120 seconds are always the hardest. Once you have completed your time in the tub, expect to feel amazing, filled with energy and have an overwhelming sense of accomplishment!

  • Cold therapy doesn’t have the same risks as cold water swimming or cryotherapy as it’s done in a bath. However, if you have any health concerns, please consult your doctor prior to engaging in this activity.

  • If you are under the age of 18 your parents will need to sign a waiver.

INFRARED SAUNA

  • Yes - there will be instructions on how to turn it on. Please make sure that’s the first thing you do when you arrive as it takes about 10 minutes to heat up. Feel free to sit inside as it heats.

  • Please wear a swimsuit during your session.

  • Infrared saunas are considered safe. Please contact a physician if you are pregnant or have any health concerns.

  • We allow up to 2 people to book in our 4 person sauna. You can take a look at our appointment times to see if there will be someone with you during your session. We also have a private option. In order to request this you will have to email getsweaty@hivefitco.ca.

  • We recommend 30 minutes to see optimum results.

  • Some of the benefits of using an infrared sauna may include, promoting healthy skin, improving circulation, helps relieve chronic pain, increases serotonin which helps reduce depression and improves sleep.

RECOVERY ROOM

  • You can book either a 30 or 60 minute time slot for Recovery. Each 30 minute booking is considered 1 session.

  • You have to be a member to book Recovery as it’s a stand alone space. Once you get a membership you will be given a special 4 digit code to enter the room and will have it for your allotted time.
